Planetary Health Centre

The Blue Mountains Planetary Health Centre

The Centre is located on a 30ha site in Katoomba that includes both a parkland and a nationally threatened Temperate Highland Peat Swamp.

A place for communities

The Centre has a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for community events, including its annual Planetary Health Day and World Animal Day, and its monthly Skill Share Saturdays.

It also offers multiple opportunities to get more involved with its extensive volunteer program.

A Place for Nature and Nature Connection

The site offers inspiring opportunities for nature connection through walks, citizen science programs, birdwatching events, bushcare and more.

A Centre of Immersive Learning and Innovation

We action and share research to reduce the risk of disaster and restore the health of our planet through the Pluriversity which operates from the Centre. The Pluriversity offers multiple streams of formal and informal learning. These include:

  • Small and large scale events

  • Tours, talks, workshops and tailored group activities

  • Conferences, Forums and Symposiums

  • A Demonstration Site

  • Exhibitions
